RUNNERS' CLUB OF GREATER CINCINNATI BOARD MEETING MINUTES
August 28, 2005
(at Swaim Park, Montgomery, prior to the Annual Club Picnic)

Members Present: Tom Glasscock, Todd Hofacre, Jeff Hummel, Ed Hunter, Nick Kleiner, Mike Moyer, Kate Rich, Carl Rich, Peter Wayte

Newsletter: The next issue will come out in November. It will include photos from the Club picnic and results from the 2.5 mile prediction run (August 28, 2005), information about the Holiday Lights Run (December 6, 2005), information about the Holiday Party (January 7, 2006), and a reminder about the Heart Mini-marathon suite at the Westin (March 26, 2006; we will call to reserve a suite in September). Jeff will handle printing of the November issue as he did for the August issue.

Next Club Happy Hour: As there were beverages and burgers left over from the picnic, the happy hour tentatively set for Thursday, September 22, in Newport, KY was changed to Nick Kleiner's home on the westside. Directions will be provided in a mass email.

Website: The Club's message board on the website is now operational. Marty has done an outstanding job in managing and updating the site. Peter suggested that we consider requiring use of a password to access the website. After some discussion, it was decided that this might complicate access to the site. On the other hand, some Board members felt that we might want access to a limited number of pages such as the current issue of the newsletter to be password protected. Mike will check with Marty on how difficult it might be to password protect selected information, e.g., the current newsletter. This idea will warrant further discussion.

Upcoming Race: Loveland River Race 10K/5K (Saturday, September 17, 9 a.m., Nisbet Park, Loveland). The Club will manage the finish line as we have done before and will be paid $1.00 per runner.

Holiday Lights Run: Tentatively set for Tuesday, December 6, starting and ending at the Williams YMCA. Tom will check on whether The Brickhouse (the old Brickyard) or O'Bryons, both in O'Bryonville, will give us a better deal on food and beverages.

Holiday Party: Scheduled for Saturday, January 7, 2006, at the Fort Thomas Community Center, same location as last year.
Discussions for next meeting: Valentine's Run, October Happy Hour, Thanksgiving Day Race involvement.

Next Board Meeting: Sunday, October 2, 1:00 p.m., at Bob Roncker's Running Spot.

Respectfully submitted,
Ed Hunter, Secretary
