RUNNERS’ CLUB OF GREATER CINCINNATI BOARD MEETING MINUTES
March 7, 2012 6:30 PM

Present: Gina Meyers, Ryan Woolley, Dave Reid, Tom Glasscock, Todd Hofacre, Guest: Ryan Smith
Absent: Laura Wagner
Meeting came to order at 6:40 PM.
Meeting Minutes: January and February Meeting Minutes were approved.
Financial Report: Ryan Woolley reported that we have about 19,000 in the bank. No outstanding checks. Todd expenses for January and February were approved. Ryan should have the Annual 2011 report ready for the next meeting.
Membership: Todd reported that there were 78 members currently. About half have not renewed for 2012. So far, there are 30 new members for 2012. Todd hopes to get out the membership packet by the end of March.
Newsletter: Articles are due for the newsletter by April 16 so the club can get them ready for the Flying Pig Expo.
Website: Marty Hovey was not present. A few board members inquired about changes to the website like easier access to club’s twitter account, club’s Facebook and the blog.
Annual Meeting - Annual Meeting: will be held April 9, 2011. Gina reserved the Swaim Park Lodge in Montgomery OH. Ryan Smith has agreed to be the featured speaker.
Family Walk / Hike April 21 or April 28: Gina proposed the idea of doing a Family Walk or Hike. Dates discussed were April 21 or April 28. Need to find a location for it.
Valentine Day Race Recap: Todd went over the P&L for the Valentine’s Day Race. Made $825 after the split with NKU. Todd went over the issues and concerns which were buying too many t-shirts, getting timely and correct results. During the recap, a discussion of the club purchasing chip timing came up. The board will need to investigate further before making a decision.
Leap Day Race: Todd went over the P& L. Broke even for the race. Todd went over the issues and concerns such as finding a location sooner, promoting sooner and getting pictures taken.
Split the Pot Prediction Run: Todd decided to not have this in March due to personal issues and may reschedule for the summer. Since there will not be a Split the Pot Prediction Run, the club is doing an April Fools Day Race a week later. Don & Jenni Raake will be directing.
Heart Mini Marathon 03/18/12: 2 rooms are reserved at the Westin. The Westin has slated a late checkout for 2012.Gina will get the food.
Flying Pig Expo & Waterstop 5/5/12: Todd went to the Fluid Station Meeting on Tuesday March 6. Todd needs to contact Saint Henry about procuring volunteers and finding a volunteer to pick up the stuff. The board decided to get a booth at the expo. Gina will take care of booth details.
National Run A Mile Days / ARA – May 6-12: Gina went over the National Run A Mile Days put on by the American Runners’ Association from May 6- May 12. Issue is the proximity to the Flying Pig Marathon.
Memorial Day Race 36 – Jascia has offered to be the race director for Memorial Day Race 36. Goal is to get a flier ready by the Heart Mini Marathon.
Race Committees: Next meeting is March 12, 2012 at Pot Belly in Rookwood Commons.
Group Runs: Gina gave an update on the Group Runs. Cindy Cranmer has offered to head up The Miami Whitewater Run when Gina can not be there. Nothing to report from Laura about Tuesday’s group Run. Ryan Smith has offered to start a Sunday Group Run in Northern Kentucky at 10:00 AM.
Training Program: Gina looked at bringing back the speed training program for this Summer.
Programs/Seminars: The board discussed the possibility of doing programs and seminars. club may be looking at doing a one day training clinic. Ryan Smith and Jascia Redwine are working on it.
Merchandising: Todd needs to take inventory. The board discussed the merchandise item for 2012. One possibility is a gearbag with the club logo on it.
Miscellaneous: Tom discussed the possibility of a Tornado Run for 2012.
Next Board Meeting: Next board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday April 4, 2012 at 6:30 PM at Personal Impact Fitness in Florence KY and down the street from the Courtyard Marriott.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:10 PM.
